Cabanin® Dairy reduces the bacterial degradation of protein in the rumen and increases the supply of amino acids to the gut. The farmer is thus given the opportunity to reduce the protein content of the feed, corresponding to 0.3 kg of soybean meal per cow per day without a loss of milk yield.
Cabanin® Dairy is a patented natural feed supplement that offers an economic benefit for the farmer in terms of savings on feed costs, as well as benefits in relation to the dairy sectors goal of reducing the crude protein content to less than 17%.
Cabanin® Dairy is a patented natural feed supplement with a high content of specific polyphenols from grapes, blackcurrants, citrus, chestnuts and aronia. Polyphenols are known to have an antibacterial effect and will in the rumen modify the activity of protein-degrading bacteria. This leaves more amino acids available for microbial protein synthesis and absorption in the small intestines. The increased dietary protein efficiency allows the farmer to lower the protein content of the diet without losing milk yield. Danish experiments with 1000 cows show that a protein reduction of 0.5% protein per kg. dry matter with the addition of Cabanin® Dairy, can be obtained without a decrease in milk yield (see Figures 1 and 2).
