R2 Agro has developed a method whereby it is possible to manufacture large strong oat flakes with a minimum of waste and dust. The process of heat treatment results in partly gelatinised grain before it in its elastic form is rolled to coarse flakes. Only cleaned oats of high quality from Denmark or Sweden is used as raw material.
Rolled dehulled oat flakes from R2 Agro are typical being used in feed mixes for piglets, horses and calves, as well as in muesli feed products. Coarse structure feed ingredients like Oat R2 Flakes HE are important for obtaining good stomach health and growth performance.
It is also a valuable feed ingredient for racehorses as it helps to eliminate risk of bronchial infections due to the low content of dust compared with normal, rolled oat. This is important in order to achieve maximum results on the trotting or race course.
