Code of Conduct

INTRODUCTION

Based on our cultural values and sustainability strategy, we at R2 Agro are working with the responsibility of our company against a background of the UN Global Compact and its principles within

1) Human rights

2) Employment rights

3) Environment

4) Governance

which will be elaborated below.

It is decisive for us that our cooperating partners also support, recognize, and put into practice the principles of the UN Global Compact in the below mentioned areas.

MANIFEST

Deep inside of all of us at R2 Agro is the feeling of the Danish concept ”købmandskab”. A concept which is unique for Danes and which – among other things – means that a business deal is only possible if both parties are satisfied.

Our commercial drive and our focus on relationship and people must also be felt by our customers and suppliers. We shall be the ones that customers seek for solutions, and the ones they seek when they have challenges.

We are a “jack of all trades” who get excited when a good trade is completed, but just as excited about satisfied employees, customers, and partners.

We help each other, we seek compromises and have done so since 1884.

Bottom line: we are proud of our history, our products, and our conduct.

CULTURAL VALUES

Our mindset is founded in four cultural values:

Professionalism
We act professionally and signal quality in everything we do. We hold the necessary qualifications within our business areas, and we continuously seek to improve our skills and knowledge

Freedom of responsibility
We believe that each individual is able to take responsibility of planing his/her own workday. Therefore, we practise freedom of responsibility in our everyday work, but we are always available for sparring with our colleagues

Leadership
We stay up to date on market developments and product trends and base new initiatives on our knowledge. We are proactive, innovative, and willing to act as pioneers within new areas. Our flexibility enables us to make quick decisions

Focus on people
We focus on people - both our external partners and our colleagues. We make it a priority to maintain and develop close personal relationships on all levels. This is how we gain our knowledge and are able to create value for our partners.

1) HUMAN RIGHTS

We support and respect the internationally declared human rights, and we ensure that we do not by any means take part in violation of human rights

We support children’s right and the abolition of child labour. According to the UN Global Compact, child labour is defined as work that deprives children of their childhood, potential, and dignity, and is harmful to their physical and mental development. It refers to work that:

1. Is mentally, physically, socially, or morally dangerous and harmful to children

2. Interferes with their schooling by depriving them of the opportunity to attend school, obliging them to leave school prematurely, or requiring them to attempt to combine school attendance with excessively long and heavy work.

Employment of young people is always in compliance with local legislation

2) EMPLOYMENT RIGHTS

We protect labour rights and promote good, safe, and healthy working environments

We take pride in offering a workplace where the individual employee's ability to thrive and enjoy job satisfaction is highly valued and where there is room to develop.

We provide a safe and hygienic working environment to prevent accidents and work-related injuries. Employee dialogue, working environment surveys or other types of assessments are regularly carried out

All forms of forced and compulsory labour are prohibited. According to the UN Global Compact, forced labour is defined as any situation where workers are forced to work against their will og under pressure from a threat of punishment

Working hours follow national legislation and are defined in employment contracts, and overtime work is not a demand. Compensation for possible overtime is defined in employment contracts

Employees have the right to form or join trade unions and take part in unition activity without interference, obstruction, influence, or sanctions from employers

There is no discrimination in respect of employment and occupation on the grounds of gender, marital or parental status, pregnancy, race, colour, age, sexual orientation, religion, political opinion, union membership, function as worker representative, nationality, ethnic origin, disease, or disability

3) ENVIRONMENT

We comply with all national and local environmental protection laws and regulations

We strive to minimize the environmental impact of our activities and products

We always consider using the best available environmental technologies in all our activities

Product development is carried out with focus on products contributing to a healthy and safe environment

4) GOVERNANCE

We comply with all applicable anti-corruption laws and regulations

We have a zero-tolerance policy towards corruption in all its forms, including extortion and bribery.

Bribes in any form are not offered, promised, given, requested, agred to receive, or accepted

We maintain transparency in our business dealings and ensure that all transactions are accurately recorded and reported

Gifts, hospitality, and entertainment that are of modest value (depending on the situation/relationship/local culture, etc.) are customary in the normal course of business. Gifts, hospitality, and entertainment must not have, or be perceived to have, undue influence on business decisions

Gifts in the form of cash are never to be offered or accepted. Any potential gifts and/or entertainment related to government officials or individuals who conduct business on behalf of a governmental authority require prior review and acceptance by the relevant manager

5) GENERAL

Employees are free to raise any concerns about the working conditions without fear of retaliation

Further information on internal governance, procedures, regulations, etc. can be found in the employee handbook
